ABSTRACT

Vaccination is an effective, simple, safeway of providing protection against harmful diseases, before contact with public. Vaccination develops immunity to particular infections and makes our immune system stronger to produce antibodies. Most of the vaccines are administered by parenteral route, but few are given by mouth or sprayed into the nose.We should believe fair and equitable access to safe and effective vaccines is only weapon to end the pandemic, so WHO is hugely working with an effort to encourage the partners to develop and manufacture safe and effective vaccines, a challenging game tool, but in the future we must continue wearing masks, sanitizing our hands, with good ventilation indoors, physical distancing and avoid crowding. Being vaccinated does not mean that we can throw caution to the wind and put ourselves and others at risk, particularly because research is still ongoing on how much vaccines gives protection against disease, infection and transmission.Vaccines may not guarantee protection from infection, they are still doing an amazing job of substantially reducing hospitalization and death related to Covid 19.Copyright © RJPT. ABSTRACT

Mucormycosis is an aggressive opportunistic infection ascribed to the inhalation of fungal spores which, normally infect the nose and paranasal sinuses. This fulminant form commonly infects immunosuppressed human hosts, especially patients with AIDS, poorly controlled diabetes, lymphoma, leukemia, and those on long-term steroid use. The rise in patients with rhino-orbital mucormycosis associated with COVID-19 created havoc in this pandemic season. In this article, six cases of Covid-19 associated Mucormycosis are reported. The timely diagnosis and appropriate management of this deadly invasive disease can help to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate.Some healthy individuals too developed Mucormycosis (phycomycosis, zygomycosis) even when no risk factors were identified. Air conditioning can cause mucosal epithelium dryness, providing an optimal habitat for this organism to grow and multiply, thus leading to Mucormycosis.The global fatality rate for mucormycosis is 46%. Early diagnosis and therapy are crucial because mucormycosis has poor prognosis The diagnosis of mucormycosis depends on pathological findings, clinical features, and imaging, which plays a crucial role in defining the extent of the invasiveness. © 2023. ABSTRACT

Mycosis is an opportunistic infection that attacks patients who are immunocompromised. Our immune system is designed to defend us against fungus and bacteria. The fungus can expand, penetrate and kill tissue because it lacks immunity. It's everywhere, in soil and air and even in healthy people's noses and snot, says the researcher. “As we work to defend ourselves from COVID-19 and live with it, another hazard termed Mucormycosis has emerged. Mucormycosis, a fungal infection caused by Mucor with a 50% fatality rate, maybe provoked by the administration of steroids, a life-saving treatment for severe and critically ill Covid-19 patients. Stay safe from Mucormycosis, a fungus that has been discovered in Covid-19 patients.
